How to validate whether the problem is real

Use this when

You have defined a customer segment and a problem direction, but you need evidence that the problem is real, important, and worth solving.

In Icanpreneur

  1. Open your startup workspace and go to Research.
  2. Under Create a new research, choose Validate customer problems.
  3. Select the Customer Segment you want to validate first.
  4. In Interview Script, either choose an existing script or click Script to validate customer problems to generate one with IVA.
  5. If you generate a script with IVA, choose the interview duration, confirm the related Customer Segment, and select the language.
  6. Back in the research setup, review the selected script and language.
  7. Decide whether to use Synthetic validation by keeping Let IVA interview 5 synthetic respondents enabled.
  8. Click Start research.
  9. Once the research is running, review the results in Overview, Interviews, Insights, and Quality.
  10. In Insights, review what the research uncovered about the Job-to-be-Done, Triggering Events, Desired Outcome, Solution Search and Evaluation, Experience of Using the Chosen Solution, and any additional insights.
  11. In Quality, review the strengths, gaps, and improvement suggestions so you can judge how reliable the interviews are and where to improve future research.
  12. Compare the frictions and customer problems uncovered by the research with your current assumptions, then refine your direction if needed.

What you'll get

Clearer evidence of whether the problem is real, important, and worth exploring further.
