How to write copy that speaks to your customer

Use this when

You want your messaging to reflect how your customers actually think, speak, and decide – not just how you describe your product internally.

In Icanpreneur

  1. Open your startup workspace and go to Personas.
  2. Open the buyer persona you want to write for and review the parts that matter most, such as the Profile, Priority Initiatives, Success Factors, Perceived Barriers, Buyer's Journey, and Decision Criteria.
  3. Click Generate assets and start with Positioning & Messaging.
  4. Let IVA generate the Positioning & Messaging document based on that buyer persona.
  5. Review the generated Positioning & Messaging and check whether it reflects the buyer's real problems, desired outcomes, barriers, and decision drivers.
  6. Return to the persona and click Generate assets again.
  7. Choose Landing page copy or Sales pitch deck, depending on the type of copy you want to create.
  8. Select the Positioning & Messaging document you want to use as the basis for the new asset, then choose the language and generate it.
  9. Review the generated asset and check whether it speaks to the customer's problem, desired outcomes, and reasons to act – not just your product features.
  10. If you create a landing page, generate the preview and review how the copy works in context. If you create a sales pitch deck, generate the slide deck and review how the message works across the presentation.
  11. As your research expands and more interviews are added, your buyer persona updates. Use the updated persona to generate a newer Positioning & Messaging document and, from it, newer versions of your Landing page copy or Sales pitch deck when needed.
  12. Refine or regenerate the asset until it sounds like it was written for the specific buyer you want to reach.

What you'll get
